Ingredients:
- 1 & 1/2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon wheat gluten
- 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 3/4 cup lukewarm water
Directions:
- Mix all ingredients together until you get a soft dough
- Knead for several minutes
- Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl
- Cover with a damp paper towel
- Let the dough rest for an hour
- Tear off enough dough to fit into the palm of your hand
- Shape into a ring
- Blanch the bagels in boiling water for 30 seconds then set on a baking tray
- Bake at 425 degrees for 25 minutes or until golden brown
- Serve with your favorite spread
